Next-weekend 2026 Au-rene theater - broward ctr for the perf arts Events Guide: Fort lauderdale Concerts, Shows and Games
Looking for a fun weekend filled with amazing performances right here in Fort Lauderdale? The Au-Rene Theater at the Broward Center for the Performing Arts is where the magic happens. This place isn’t just your average theater, it’s got a vibe, a history of hosting everything from big-name musicals to cutting-edge dance. Like back in 2010, when choreographer Twyla Tharp brought her incredible work to the stage, turning the theater into a dance lover’s dream. And don’t get me started on the stunning design, the grand proscenium really makes every show feel special. In 2004, they rocked the house with Rent: The Musical, which totally struck a chord with the millennial crowd, myself included. Plus, the sound system in the mezzanine is actually pretty impressive, talk about clear dialogue during those intense solos or witty banter. If you’re bringing your pup along, just remember to plan for pet care because they don’t want Fido getting bored outside. And hey, if you're coming from Plantation or nearby, just hop on Interstate 595, super easy. So, whether you’re into catching a ballet like Miami City Ballet, snagging front-row seats for Randy Rainbow, or just looking for a fun night out, the Au-Rene Theater has something for everyone. Trust me, it’s the perfect spot to celebrate a special occasion or just enjoy some top-tier entertainment. Don't miss out on discovering new shows, your next favorite night is waiting at the Au-Rene!
